Aaron Hardin is an independent photographer based out of Jackson, Tennessee. He was born in the rice fields of central Arkansas but migrated to West Tennessee as a child. His work focuses on life in rural southern communities. Aaron is a graduate of Hartford Art School and is currently a professor at Union University.
We had the honor of partnering with Aaron to produce his self-published photo-book, “The 13th Spring.” The book chronicles the time around his daughter’s birth, which happened to coincide with a birth year for cicadas. Hence the little cicada icon we hand-printed on the front cover. Aaron came to us with a very clear vision about what he wanted to achieve with this limited edition. Each book was hand-stitched using a linen cloth cover material providing a unique, tactile look and feel that complements the subtle themes found in this rich body of work.
